What was once a market dominated by a handful of traditional OEMs has evolved into a much broader ecosystem that includes enterprise vendors, original design manufacturers (ODMs) and Open Compute platforms.

That’s where we come in. We help organisations match workloads, operational requirements and budget to the right platform, drawing on experience across a wide range of vendors and architectures.

A Broader Market

Different environments place very different demands on compute infrastructure.

Some organisations prioritise enterprise support models, standardisation and global service coverage. Others are focused on performance, density, flexibility or cost at scale. In practice, there is rarely a single right answer.

Our role is to understand the requirement and recommend the most appropriate platform, balancing technical, operational and commercial considerations along the way.

Enterprise Compute

Enterprise platforms from vendors such as Lenovo, Dell and HPE continue to play an important role across many environments.

For geographically distributed infrastructure, business-critical applications and organisations with established operational processes, these platforms often provide the support models, software validation and lifecycle management required to run production environments with confidence.

We work closely with the major enterprise vendors and help customers understand where these platforms make sense and where alternative approaches may be worth considering.

Open Infrastructure and ODM Platforms

Vespertec’s roots are in the more open side of the infrastructure market.
Many of the technologies and operating models pioneered by hyperscalers eventually find their way into the wider enterprise market. We recognised that trend early and built much of our expertise around the platforms and vendors operating in that space.

Today we work with a range of ODM and open infrastructure vendors including Supermicro, Gigabyte, ASRock Rack, QCT, Tyan, Kaytus, Aivres and AIC. These platforms can offer significant advantages in the right environments, particularly where flexibility, density and cost efficiency are key drivers.

Built Around the Requirement

We’ve always believed that infrastructure decisions should start with the workload.

That means understanding how applications behave, how environments are expected to scale and what operational constraints need to be considered before recommending a platform.

Because we work across compute, storage and networking, we can take a wider view of the infrastructure rather than treating servers as an isolated purchase.

Talk to Us

Whether you’re refreshing enterprise infrastructure, building a cloud platform, deploying research environments or exploring open infrastructure for the first time, we can help you understand the options available.

Our approach is practical, consultative and grounded in real-world deployment experience. We work closely with customers to define requirements, evaluate platforms and build solutions that are designed around how they’ll actually be used.
